The Opel Astra GTC can be ordered with a choice of four engines - one diesel and three petrol. With 165PS, the 2.0 CDTI engine is an improved version of the diesel engine is installed in some models of the Insignia and Astra ranges. Each engine has a diesel particulate filter, six-speed transmission and Start / Stop as standard economics, maximization and performance. Delivery 380 Nm of torque (including the overboost function), the 2.0 CDTi offers excellent mid-range acceleration for the GTC, in combination with a time of 0 to 62 mph in 8.9 seconds and a top speed of 130 mph.

The pair also allows the Opel Astra GTC a relaxed pace of cruising, which means a combined mpg of 57.6mpg and C02 emissions of just 129g/km. It also gives the driver a potential range of over 700 kilometers.

Start / Stop and a gearbox with six speeds are also standard on both versions of the gasoline engine 1.4-liter Turbo. With either 140PS or 120PS, the 1.4T reaches a combined total of 47. 9mpg and 139g/km of C02 emissions, but each offers a crisp performance even with a maximum torque of 200 Nm delivered between 1850-4200rpm.

The most powerful engine in the range is the 1.6 liter turbo, which produces 180PS and enables the GTC to achieve a top speed of 132 mph.
